Sheldon S. Schwarzbrott, D.V.M.
Dr. Schwarzbrott was born in Brooklyn and was raised on Long Island. He attended the University of Missouri (Columbia) for his undergraduate studies and was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi social fraternity. After obtaining his undergraduate degree, he spent two years in the military including a tour in Vietnam and then returned to the University of Missouri for his professional studies. Sheldon is a 1975 graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and a member of the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. He is happily married to his wife of 30+ years and has three children. Dr. Schwarzbrott and Dr. Dribbon purchased the South Shore Animal Hospital in July of 1978.
Evan C. Dribbon, D.V.M.
Dr. Evan C. Dribbon obtained a B.A. in Psychology from Hofstra University in 1967. From 1967 through 1971 he taught elementary school in Queens, New York City. Dr. Dribbon obtained his DVM degree from the University of the
Philippines in 1975. He obtained licenses to practice veterinary medicine in the states on New York and Massachusetts. From 1975-1978 Dr. Dribbon practiced veterinary medicine as an associate in various Long Island animal hospitals. In 1978 he joined with Dr. Sheldon S. Schwarzbrott to purchase and operate the South Shore Animal Hospital that has grown to a five veterinarian full-service facility. His voluntary services include care of wildlife at the Sweet Briar Nature Center in Suffolk County.
He presently lives on Long Island with his wife, the two youngest of his four daughters, two cats and two horses. Dr. Dribbon has taught nature photography at Hofstra University. His other interests include horseback riding and snow skiing.
Jennifer R. Robeson, D.V.M.
Dr. Jennifer R. Robeson grew up in nearby Hicksville, Long Island where her parents still live. She attended SUNY Geneseo, where she graduated in 2000 with a degree in biochemistry. After a couple of years of soul searching and working as a laboratory technician in a human hospital, Dr. Robeson decided to apply to veterinary school. She graduated in 2006 from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, MA. She returned home to Long Island and joined our staff shortly after graduation in June of 2006. Professional interests include dentistry, internal medicine, and preventative care. Dr. Robeson has a soft spot for beagles and owns a former laboratory beagle, Jolly, adopted from Tufts in 2003. She has another rescue dog, Skippy, and two black cats, Tribble and Cinder. In her free time, Dr. Robeson enjoys cooking, time outdoors, going to the beach, and spending time with friends, including her fiance, Trevor. She also spends a fair amount of time planning for her upcomming wedding in October of 2007.
Mark A. Caporaso, D.V.M.
Dr. Mark A. Caporaso grew up in Seaford, NY. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in animal science in 1988. He attended veterinary school at Auburn University in Alabama and graduated in 1992. Dr. Caporaso returned to Long Island after spending time as an emergency clinician in Georgia. Professional interests include surgery and emergency medicine. Dr. Caporaso still works emergency shifts at NYVSC in Farmingdale on the weekends. In his free time, Dr. Caporaso enjoys exercising, playing baseball and paddleball, and hanging out with friends. He currently lives in Sayville with his wife Stacey, his new baby son Michael, and his four rescue dogs, Orson, Sam, Cooper, and Jamie.
